Got away from Rockhampton early as planned, 8:30am and made great time. Julie drove the whole day while I rested. 😎😎😎
Covered some 520kms with a stop for fuel at Mount Larcom and a quick stop in Gympie for some stuff to remove the nails Taleah put on that are hurting. UPDATE: Apparently, they now don't hurt. Ahhhhhh!! Kids! 😖😖😖😖
It is now wet and rainy. First decent rain since we left Perth. Temperature has dropped, so I guess that's the end of the nice warm weather.
Very quiet spot considering the M1 motorway is about 150 meters away.

Fix The Hot Water.

The hot water has not worked on 12volt/gas since after the first night. Finally getting it fixed.
There is a nice new Scorpion with the same layout as ours for 95k. Only missing a few bits.
The hot water was a pinched wire during manufacture or assembly of the hot water unit. All good now. 😁😁😁 They also adjusted the water pump as it was running a bit long after tap is turned off.

Time to look around while the van is fixed. Took a drive to Bribie Island for lunch. Cool but still ok.

All fixed at JB Caravans and on our way by 2:00pm. Dual carriageway all the way, but lots of traffic in spots. The M1 had up to 6 lanes one way over the Brisbane Bridge and 3 to 4 lanes most of the way before and after that. Julie drove the whole day again. I just relaxed. 😎😎😎
Took 2 hours for 154kms. Not bad I suppose.

Oops! 😥😥😥 No booking at the caravan park. Well that's a bummer. I thought I had everything sussed all the way to Batemans Bay. Better check the rest of the bookings me thinks.
They have room, so all is good and got a little more discount because I was having a bad day. I didn't say no. 😉😉😉
It is always the good versus the bad! It is good that we got in, but we are in the flight path for Coolongatta Airport and the M1 is close by. They have a pond you can fish in. Aidyn loves it. You don't need an alarm clock. We have a pair of nesting Black Faced Ibis that start squawking as the sun comes up. Other than this it is a nice quiet park.
It has an amazing camp kitchen overlooking the lagoon.

Having a bit of a drive around today. Not a good day for the beach or surfing. Julie and I have been to Currumbin a few times many years ago for wave ski events.
Continued along the Gold Coast for a look. So many more high rises and a lot more being built.
Had lunch at Harbourtown Outlet. Amazing, one place for Direct Factory Outlets. We neededa lot more time here.
Back to NSW on the M1 for the night.
It has started raining. A thunder storm as well. 🙄🙄🙄

Movie World.

The kids could not decide which of the 4+ theme parks to go to, so we decided on Movie World for them.
It was bucketing down all morning and on the way there. Checked the weather and there was half a chance the rain might ease. 🌧🌧🌧
As it turned out the crowd factor was less than expected and the rain did break only to return briefly as we left at closing time. 🤗🤗🤗
It is a great place for kids and adults. Even if you don't go on the major rides.
I went on one ride major ride that the kids wouldn't go on. Got shot into space by Batman. Taleah went on a sedate roller coaster with me. Although, I don't think she thought it was sedate. 😬😬😬
The whole family went on a water ride. Both kids and Julie were traumatized and that was the end of that. We focused on other stuff for the day. It was a great day by all accounts.
Now what about the other theme parks for next time? 🤔🤔🤔
