What a stunning view as you drive through Cardwell main street, the Bruce Highway. Stopped for a brief walk along the path and out onto the jetty.
Saw some turtles feed around the hetty and put from the jetty. The water, although not crystal clear seem to have lots of activity in it. Those on the jetty fishing were not getting any though. Had a chat to some Poms from NewZealand who come over this was every so often for a holiday. 🙄🙄🙄

Decided not to free came for the next two nights. Could not find somewhere suitable. As it turned out did not see many either along the way.
We have to move sites in the morning, but hey it has a pool and the kids have been dying for a swim since Cape Trib swimming holes.
O Ohl the kid have the bike off before even level and bathers on by the time I had the power cord out and off to the pool before it was plugged in. Crikey not crocs on them! 😄😄😄
Ah peace and quiet at last. Probably need a snooze, it does seem we have been busy.
Wow, Newsflash: the family we were next to at Cape Trib Camping are here at the same time. Apparantly that was the noisey car honking us when we were stopped at Cardwell. Here's me saying "no their honking at some one else". 😏😏😏
Caught up with them and the kids arranged for us to all go out to dinner. Only went to Sizzlers. 🤗🤗🤗
We had a great night and we have almost identical plans on the way south. Even the timing is similar.

Unfortunately we had to move sights for the second night. Not ideal but it is a nice spot next to the gazebo with BBQs. Very shady under a high tree with a Strangler Fig Tree between us and next site.

In the middle of Townsville is a huge hill. Well, small mountain really that overlooks the entire area at 348 meters above sea level.
Some view!! Townsville really has a sprawl as far as the eye can see. Having said that you do look out over the Coral Sea and towards Magnetic Island.

While on top off the Castle Hill Lookout Julie pointed out the Rock Pool she had been told about.
Sounded and looked very interesting, so that's it "lets go".
Did the shopping for supplies and back to the van to grab the bathers and off to The Rock Pool.
We need something like this in Perth. The length is pretty close 100 meters. I bet that was no coincidence. 😉😉😉
The kids went for a swim and I did some laps. The water is the same colour and clarity as the sea. No complaints though, it was easy to swim in just look up every now and then. Bit like a normal ocean swim.
Had to leave early as Aidyn managed to land on Taleah when jumping in the deep end. The water goes from a gentle slope in from one side to 2 meters deep in the other side.

It was so nice at the Rock Pool we decided to go back to the foreshore for dinner.
Fish & Chips sounded good. Located a F&C shop nearby. Took 40 minutes to get the food and very busy. so we figured it must be good.
The Barra was very nice, but how could you muck up Barra? 😉😉😉
The wind was a little blowy but not cold. Went for a walk back done to the Rock Pool. It was lit up and you could easily swim at night. but no takers. Not even me, well you know you are not supposed to swim after a meal. 😁😁😁
There is also a flying fox that the kids spent 30 minutes playing on before we headed further along to an ice team outlet. Yum!! Good value too. Much cheaper than Baskin & Robins.
On the way to the icecream we came across a couple of possums try to climb down a tree. Our presence caused one to prop on the descent from the tree giving us a close up for the odd photo.
